WATERKWALITEIT
Check KH and pH after heavy autumn rain.
Heavy rain can lower the KH and make the pH unstable. Check the values after a wet period.

Tip
Check KH and pH after heavy autumn rain.
Prolonged or heavy rain brings a lot of mineral-poor water into the pond. As a result, the carbonate hardness (KH) can decrease. A low KH makes the pH less stable, which means the biological balance can come under pressure more quickly.
Therefore, measure the KH and pH after a wet period. Preferably, do this around the same time each time so that the values are easily comparable. Also check ammonia and nitrite if the fish show abnormal behavior.
Do not correct multiple values at once and never add products haphazardly. Apply only gradually and follow the dosage of the chosen product. Also check whether rainwater is flowing into the pond via the ground, paving, or fertilized borders.
Record your measurement results. The trend over multiple measurements often says more than a single result.
BIOGRO advice
Measure not only after the rain, but also beforehand when heavy precipitation is expected. This way, you can see more quickly whether the KH is actually dropping and avoid unnecessary corrections.
