In these situations, several microbiological processes need to develop at the same time to support the natural balance of the pond.
Three Steps in the Pond System
1 – Supporting natural balance
The first step focuses on the development of a stable microbiological balance in the pond. Microorganisms establish themselves in the water, filter, and pond bottom, forming the biological foundation of the system.
2 – Supporting nitrification
The second step supports processes involved in the conversion of nitrogen compounds. These processes play an important role in ponds with fish and contribute to the development of stable water conditions.
3 –Supporting organic matter breakdown
The third step focuses on the processing of organic material that can accumulate in the pond, such as leaves, food residues, and other organic waste.
